How will the funds from my purchase be allocated?

All profit from the sale of these prints will be forwarded directly to Compassion in Action ("C in A") in support of their efforts to bring education to children who would not otherwise have that possibility. You will receive a sponsorship package containing all of the details you need including a photo and biography of your sponsored child, directly from "C in A." Here is a list of specific items provided by Compassion in Action for each new student sponsorship...

• School uniform (mandatory in Nicaragua)
• New shoes
• Daily nutritionally-balanced school lunches for a full year
• One full year of tuition

What kind of organization is Compassion in Action?

"C in A," is a 501(c)(3)non-profit, operating in Latin America. Like many relief organizations in the region, it is faith-based. "C in A" is a grass-roots operation with a personal touch and it's services are available to any child in need regardless of their (or their family's) heritage or beliefs. The organization was founded by a house painter and his wife from western Washington. It was initially organized in response to to the devatation brought to the region by Hurricane Mitch. "C in A" currently serves over 500 children with the efforts of numerous volunteers both in-country and abroad.

Can I sponsor a child without purchasing prints?

YES! When you sponsor a child directly through Compassion in Action, you will receive the same sponsorship kit with complete information about your sponsored child. The difference is that you may work with "C in A" to structure a payment plan rather than making a bank card transaction here on Fotelica.com. Concerning Your Taxes

Because Fotelica itself is not a nonprofit, and since you will be receiving "goods" in exchange for payment, we are obligated by law to collect sales tax on your order placed from this website. If you would like to receive a tax receipt for your contribution to Compassion in Action, you must indicate that at the time of purchase by placing a checkmark in the "Yes" box provided at the top of this page. Fotelica will forward all contributions within 10-business days. Your tax receipt along with a sponsorship kit will come to you directly from Compassion in Action soon after. You will be contacted by Compassion in Action with the details of your sponsorship and they will provide you with a sponsorship kit and the opportunity to select a child to sponsor. Please contact Compassion in Action directly for these inquiries. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT FOTELICA WITH QUESTIONS CONCERNING YOUR SPONSORSHIP OR TAX RECEIPT OR OTHER RELATED CONCERNS. Beyond the sales tax information collected on your Fotelica order, we will not retain records concerning your tax deductions or sponsorship details. Your tax receipt from Compassion in Action for the order placed through this Fotelica web page will reflect a total deductible amount of $365.00 (or $1.00 per day in sponsorship collected in advance), this will not be the same as the amount reflected on your sales receipt from Fotelica, which will include state sales tax, and an administrative fee which covers the production, shipping and handling of your order (not part of your charitable contribution). Your Fotelica sales receipt will not be acceptable by the IRS for a tax deduction.
